If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

why is it that my gynecologist says that it is actually a lot healthier to have pubic hair. She told me that hair keeps the bacteria out. I also tried going bare and noticed that I sweat even more, am more likely to get razor bumps and I noticed that my normal smell was stronger. i am not saying that people who shave their private areas are gross anything, I am just curious as to why the number one reason people say they do it is hygiene and that if you don't you're gross. Other than that, when I didn't shave I didn't have as strong of and odor and did not sweat so much. Someone, please give me an unbiased HONEST answer as to why shaving is more hygienic even if a gyno says its not.

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

its not more hygenic. it just feels and looks better.

the only reason u noticed the sweat is because no hair was there to absorb it. and she is right. the hair does keep bacteria out. its all about personal preference. waxing keeps u from getting bumps and going entirely bare is a preference also. most girls just take most of it off but leave some and keep it maintained.

not a fan of the big bush. lol

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

i won't be able to say it is more hygienic because i have also heard from every doctor i asked that it is less hygienic i can tell you thou that as a shaver i don't do it based on hygienic reasons i do it based on personal preference

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

there is nothing wrong with pubic hair just trim it

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

every gyno i have seen says hair traps the bacteria, doesnt make you gross but traps more bacteria.

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

it's not it's just a personal opinion of what they think is better for them. we have pubic hair for a reason so why take it all off?

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

i do it cause otherwise it gets itchy, and who wants an itchy pussy???

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

I don't think it is hygenic. It's too sensitive to shave there regularly or at least, I am too sensitive, plus I don't like how it looks totally bald.

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

Your pubic hair is there for a number of reasons. To keep you clean, to trap the pheromones, and to identify a part that is for sex (more for pre-modern times). There is nothing gross about looking like an adult woman and not like a child. Just wash yourself and you'll be fine.

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

I think your gyno is wrong.

Its smegma that protects the labial area from pathogenic bacteria....

If Shaving Pubic Hair is soooo Hygienic....?

As its said "moderation in all things", I have to say that maybe both sides of the great pubic hair debate are right.

I have shaved off my pubes for the last 10+ years, and I have absolutely no complaints at all. Back in the days when I used to shave them off twice a year, I initially loved the smoothness, but later (at the 10th day point) totally regretted shaving!!! It does take the skin time to get accustomed to frequent shaving, and now if I don't shave my pubes every 6 days, I feel "dirty".

Now, for those who feel that the pubes serve some purpose, I have to say that in the times that I was "full bushed", that eventhough my pubes were clean (I wash with soap and water), that they had an "after smell". trimming never helped either, and thats what prompted me to shave them all off. Now no smell.

Some years ago at work, a couple of women complained that they had re-occurring yeast infections. When these women were asked of their 'pubic preference", they mentioned that they are full bushed. Now, if the purpose of pubes is to trap bacteria, then wouldn't it stand to reason that these "bacteria traps" are harboring the fungus that's contributing to the yeast infection?

We can not pin point which cultural groups have the higest or lowest incidents of gential problems--solelty based of pube design, as there are other factors to consider. We all can't be all right or all wrong. To each his own, and so is the choice of what we feel is right to do about our pubes.

Hope this helps.

Will Lemon Juice Be Ok On My Hair? (Anyone May Answer)?

I want to try to dye/highlight my hair with lemon juice, I know that it will make pretty colors with blonde, brunette hair, but what happens if my hair is dark-brown and black mix(natural hair color), I also have a wavy hair texture and my hair is VERY thick and healthy(not nappy or matted)...Will my hair dye/highlight well with lemon juice? Do I have to worry about it falling out or anything like that? Please help!!! Thanks, anyone may answer!!! : )

Will Lemon Juice Be Ok On My Hair? (Anyone May Answer)?

It will lighten your hair. There is no way to tell what color because everyone's hair is different. It may range from just a light brown to a dark blonde. It should not make your hair fall out but you will want to wash or rinse your hair so that it will not become sticky (or attract flies).

Lemon juice is natural, you will be fine

Will Lemon Juice Be Ok On My Hair? (Anyone May Answer)?

I assume it would be like putting peroxide in your hair, that's what we did in my day. Anyway you should get it professionally dyed. Whatever makes sure hair lighter is stripping in anyway whether you use hair bleach or lemon juice so y not let a professional do it.

Will Lemon Juice Be Ok On My Hair? (Anyone May Answer)?

The last thing you will have to worry about with lemon juice on your hair is falling out. Lemon juice will do absolutely nothing but give your hair a nice lemon scent and possible give you a little bit of a lighter shade to your natural where the lemon juice was placed. You will not see "highlight" results. If you are considering highlights your best bet would be to visit your stylist.

Will Lemon Juice Be Ok On My Hair? (Anyone May Answer)?

As a stylist I don't suggest it simply becauase it's too acidic and will fry your hair like that. Stick to the regular hair stuff and you'll do much better in the end. Good luck!

Will Lemon Juice Be Ok On My Hair? (Anyone May Answer)?

-Lemon Juice is extremely acidic, and will damage your hair if left on too long....it will dry your hair out. On the ACID-ALKALINE SCALE IT IS ONE OF THE MOST ACIDIC ACIDS. You said you have dark hair which means even when you go to a professional they will have to watch you for orange or bright red.......go to see a professional.....

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

i heard that using a raw egg on your hair will make it shiny, can i use it everyday? will it make my hair look more healthy than dead? so if i try it do i put it on my hair like shampoo? and after i rinse it out do i put anything else in my hair like shampoo or conditoner, or is the egg the last thing i put in my hair before i get out of the shower?

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

no that's crazy

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

it will make your hair look greesy. My friend tried it once and her hair was nasty the next day.

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

nononono.

okay you heard wrong.

egg makes your hair greasy

to make it shiny at the end of your shower take a cup a vineger and then rinse it with cold water!

merry christmas!

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

I've never heard of this before. I have, however, heard of putting egg on your face in order to help prevent pimples (I tried this years ago and let me tell you, that raw egg on my face made me want to puke...that was the end of that - it got me no where!).

Why don't you try going to a Sally Beauty Salon store (or anywhere that sells shampoo really) and browse around. You'll stumble upon mannnny many brands that help to restore shine etc.

Good luck.

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

It doesn't work as good as mayo but if you do it. it will work. And if you try it wash it out with cold water or else you'll get scrambled eggs!!!

Beat up on an Egg: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, and whip the white thoroughly. Then add 1 tablespoon of water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Next, mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the egg mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, and then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up. Continue to rinse until all of the egg is washed away then wash with shampoo

if you want to try the mayo.....

Heat up one half cup of mayonnaise until it becomes an oily, white goo and apply to dry, unwashed hair. Cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave on for at least 15 minutes. Then, rinse and shampoo thoroughly.

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

Eggs are high in protein which will strengthen and add shine to your hair... however, like some people said, it will probably make it look greasy or gross.

Okay does using egg on your hair make it shiny?

Mabye, but it would smell bad.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

yes it is, altho most shampoo companies will argue so to incourage you to use more of their product. the oils that your scalp produces, sebum, is to coat the shaft of the hair giving it a shiny look. most shampoo, conditioner companies use floor polish"wax" to immulate the same effect. many companies will also use strange ingredients wich may cause irritaion and possible scabs because they are toxic. Take this into concideration.... many people from India will not wash their hair until they have had sex wich I suppose makes them feel dirty, anyway, imagine what the Indians must think of us Usa'ns washing our hair every day....DIRTY SLUTS that we are....

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

no probably 2-3 it depends though. if you wash it less then your hair will probably get greasy.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

No, I'd say everyother day tho. ;)

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

i wash mine every three weeks. I have no say in that thought. Thats my moms choice. Id raather wash it every 4 days thought.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

no, it just gets gunky with oil

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

well, as long as youre not sweaty or smelly. when you dont wash your hair, it lets natural oils from your scalp hydrate your hair, making it more manageable and less damaged.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

how bout every day?

unless you wear a shower cap and already do take a shower once a day.

hair should be washed like every two days.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

if your a guy

then i would wash it everyday

but if your a girl, condition everyday

and shampoo every other :]

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

it depends on what u do during the day.if u play sports it might be a good idea to shorten that time span because u mite get dirty.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

no i say you should wash your hair every 2 days

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

No, I wouldn't wait quite that long in between washings. I think every other day is more reasonable while not being too much. It really depends from person to person.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

It depends on if your hair is oily or dry. Yes it is healthier for dry hair but if you have oily hair you must wash it every day or every other day.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

no your hair will fall out more... i would to it every other day

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

not neccessarily..some people can if their hair is realllly dried out...you should skip every other day. If its greasy then you should wash it everyday:)

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

no. every other day.

Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

That would make it greasy, If you don't have that much hair then probably 3 days is the limit, but ever 2 is about the normal amount people wash their hair I think - I have no idea if that's making it healthy or not. You could switch to a healthy hair shampoo of some kind...

閳?br>Is it healthier to wash your hair every 4 days?

you shouldnt wash your hair everyday but every other day

I have medium hair and i want to know how to make it grow a lil bit longer!?

i have medium length hair and i want it to grow more but it takes so long to grow i want to get extensions for my hair but i dont have $ and i really dont want fake hair in my natural hair! i dont want it to get ruined either cuz my hair is very healthy! but i want my hair to grow longer plz help!

-michelle!

I have medium hair and i want to know how to make it grow a lil bit longer!?

get exposure to the sun! it releases vitamin D and helps your hair grow soo much (my little sister hang out at the beach everyday and her hair has been growing 3x the speed of mine)

scalp massages help blood flow to the scalp, helping hair to grow.

and you can also try hair vitamins. i've been using a womens kind from GNC.

I have medium hair and i want to know how to make it grow a lil bit longer!?

cut it every 8 weeks. it really works. good luck!!!

I have medium hair and i want to know how to make it grow a lil bit longer!?

A great idea iz to get a trim and a trim takes off all the frizzy and dead like hair and makes it grow a lot faster.

I have medium hair and i want to know how to make it grow a lil bit longer!?

hey, i have heard of two things that can help your hair grow faster! i have never tried them but i am planning to start using them as i would also like longer hair but it takes so long to grow. The first thing is a herd called horsetail, which you can by in health food store The second is adding flaxseeds to your salad! I hope these herbs work if you chose to try them ! You could also tryusing hair grips etc to clip your hair up in different ways while it is growing to keep it out of your way.

Cutting your hair?

I shaved my head about a year and 3 months ago. I have been growing my hair since and have never gotten a hair cut or trim since. My hair is about 8.5 inches. What benefits would come from getting a trim? I want to keep growing it so I don't want it to get cut any shorter, thats why I am hesitant to get a trim. I have a lot of broken hairs from wearing bandanas and hats a lot but in general my hair is pretty healthy. Should I get a trim if I want to keep growing it? what is the benefit? thanks!

Cutting your hair?

The only reason to get a trim is to eliminate frizz and breakage..

you did mentioned you have a bit of breakage, i suggest getting an inch off (it should grow back in a month) besides you wont even be able to tell that it's gone and your ends would be healthier

There are many things you can do to increase potential hair growth in the meantime, your local vitamin stores should have "Nourishair", it contains all the proper nutients you need to increase potential hair growth.. I highly reccomend it!

Also eating your fruits %26amp; veggies and cleaning up your diet..

Excersising of course too, do sports-run around-go dancing

Protein enriched foods, no saturated fat or fried foods if possible.

Avoid bandanas/straightenrs/etc. so your hair could breathe a bit easier =)

good luck =) keep us updated!

Cutting your hair?

If you get your hair cut it keeps the hair healthy. and when its healthy it grows faster!

Cutting your hair?

It gets rid of all the dead ends and dry bits, it makes it look and feel healthier, just get a really tiny bit off and you will see a benefit, it looks a bit "sharper" for want of a better word

Cutting your hair?

the benefit is chopping off dead or split ends, and a trim will help you grow your hair a little longer. it will also make the hair healthier. i suggest gariner fruitis..... their products help your hair grow 5x stornger!~

Cutting your hair?

If you want to keep growing it, it is usually very beneficial to get a trim every 3 or 4 weeks so that any dead hair is chopped off!

Also, it helps it to grow much faster, and keeps it very healthy!!

x

Cutting your hair?

The benefit of a trim is to get rid of split ends and to promote the growth of healthy hair. Brushing and washing hair makes it weak and brittle.

Cutting your hair?

Hair grows from the roots, not from the ends, so the condition of the ends really has no effect on how fast the hair grows.

Trimming it regularly will keep it looking neater, thicker and healthier, since it gets rid of split and thinning ends.

Hair Dye (Brunette to Redhead)?

My friend wants to dye her hair red so she asked me to post on here before she did anything to avoid a fiasco. Her hair texture is medium to thick but it's not coarse. It's straight. It's about mid-back. She has a paler skin tone (ivory) and almond shaped blue eyes. I think she's got a diamond shaped or heart shaped face. Her hair's pretty healthy. What shade of red would go best with her coloring? She doesn't want it like vibrant red that looks neon and fake or anything. She has sort of red base to her hair already. Please post advice. Thanks.

Hair Dye (Brunette to Redhead)?

Well, paler skin tones go well with most colors.

I'd go for a somewhat vibrant (But not too vibrant) ruby red.

There's a dye from Herbal Essences called Radiant Ruby, and I used to have it and I loved it, and I have a similar complexion as your friend.

Hair Dye (Brunette to Redhead)?

yo

Hair Dye (Brunette to Redhead)?

Well a natural color red of corse. I'm into dying my hair and I was born bruntette. I know that red is a hard color to keep whether your doing red higliths or coke can red dye. So unless you find a realy good brand it will most likely fade back. I hope this helps.

Hair Dye (Brunette to Redhead)?

red is the fastest fading color so it will definately fade, and usually a lot.

Side effects on Highlighting hair? Why my hair doesn't have Negative ions in it?

I used an "Ionic Blowdryer" that adds Negative ions to your Hair... After that, my hair was super smooth and healthy. That means that i had (before using the blowdryer), Positive Ions in my hair or something? If yes or no.. Why? Is there another way to get these "Negative Ions" besides using that Blowdryer? My hair's natural blonde but i used a "Sun In" product to make it blonder...I think maybe dat's the reason my hair's not smooth. What Ionic effects does that have in my hair? it gives me Positive Ions or something? (I think the "Sun in" that i used has something to do with my Hair Problem).Or maybe it's the Hormones. Do hormones in adolescence affect Hair ??

Side effects on Highlighting hair? Why my hair doesn't have Negative ions in it?

i have no idea what u're talking about... but there's this great brand of hair dye that i really like, it washes out after a while, too, it's COLOR PULSE, i used cherry red and i really liked the results. i think it's better to do something that washes out, instead of pernamently damaging your hair. as for what ur asking, ask a stylist at a beauty salon, they should know and be able to explain it fully and well. good luck!

Side effects on Highlighting hair? Why my hair doesn't have Negative ions in it?

Hormones do in fact effect hair (ask any woman who's gone through pregnancy what it did to her hair). As far as negative ions and all that, all it means is that it reduced the static electricity in your hair which could easily be put back into your hair by dry weather or a brush with a balloon. Conditioner can help battle those "bad ions" in your hair, also using sun in bleaches your hair which dries it out which makes it more suseptible to static electricity. It damaged your hair, so it CAN cause "hair problems". But nothing that a good leave in conditioner can't fix. As far as what your hair dryer is advertizing it's a gimmick to make it sound more high tech, basically it's blowing hot air up your @$$. Also to reduce fly-aways (static electricity) on the go, put a dryer sheet in your purse (keeps your purse smelling good too) and then rub your hair down with it when you're hair starts getting static-y. Also try products like Frizz Ease (I don't know how the product name is spelled exactly, that might be it). It works to tame and straighten hair. Good luck!

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

Alright, I'm going to be real specific. My hair is natural black I know that for a fact, its not dark goth black but a light black. I only bleached it once in my whole life and that was 4 to 5 years ago. No damaged happned and I got beautiful results. Over the years I dyed my hair with no bleach and my results where with brown, black hair and reddish light hair causing it to look almost brunnet. Which I dont mind it actually looks and feels better then before.

Well i was wondering, because of that, would my hair need alot of bleach since it seems its already ligthened.

Also onther fact, my hair is good with lasting long with dyed affects. These were all home done each after a year and I still have them, I would say my hair is pretty strong and healthy.

I have fair skin, short hair, and brownish eyes, that turn greyish in the winter. If that helps any.

Would the bleach damage my hair, or would it seem fine, because of how light it got over the years. I dont want dramatic answers also

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

once you apply bleach to any hair the texture changes . although it did;NT hurt it before your body chemistry changes yr after yr . just try to do as little streaks as possible maybe just frame your face first you can always do more and if you have allot of red pigments PLATINUM will be difficult to achieve good luck !

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

as long as you do it right your hair will be fine. i recommend that you don't wash your hair for like 2 days before you bleach it because the bleach won't dry out your hair so bad if you have the natural oils in it.

Platinum blonde chunks with black hair, how bad can it damage my hair?

to go that light it will damage your hair.....plus you would look like a zebra with plat blonde and black hair

Hair, skin and Vitamin E?

Is it just a coincidence that after 3 weeks of taking Vit E tabs, my hair appears shiny and healthier (when it's usually dull and lifeless) and I've yet to get a pimple? (where I normally have 1 or 2 per week)

Just pure luck??

Hair, skin and Vitamin E?

I think it is not a conincidence. Vitamin E is good for hair and skin.

If you have bad skin you have a vitamin A and D deficiency. The most readily digestible form of these vitamins are containded in cod liver., halibut liver and shark liver oil. I take cod liver oil, two tablespoons a day. To many people the taste is very disagreeable. If this is the case there are perls (gelatine capsules) of these oils which can be taken. The cod liver oil I take is 2500 I.U.s (International Units) of viamin A and 250 I.U.s of vitamin D per gram. There are water misible pills as well, these are the dry form of the vitamins. I would suggest taking the oil misible form of these vitamins.

Hair, skin and Vitamin E?

vitamin e is great 4 the skin and hair. also try beta carotene. it works 4 me. it's not pure luck, it's common sense.

Hair, skin and Vitamin E?

Vitamin E works on my body (hair and nail)as well.

But if you want to obtain more perfect hair, I really recommend you taking CoQ10 and Alpha Lipoic Acid, or either of them.By virtue of them, my hair is shining all the time.

Help with hair!?

Ok, I have colored treated blonde hair, with brown low-lights in it. I go to the salon every 8 weeks and get just my roots touched up, but my hair is very fine, and fragile, and it breaks at nothing. I don't look good with my natural color of hair which is like a dirty brown, and I want my hair to look healthy, and have a great texture. Does anyone know anything that will improve the texture and strength of my hair? Plz help! Thanks :-)

Help with hair!?

Nutrition is very important in having strong, shiny, healthy hair.

Take a really good multi-vitamin, like from a health food store, not one a day or Centrum.

Take a supplement called Biotin, it helps make hair strong and shiny.

Eat plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and moderate amounts of lean proteins, to keep hair strong.

Make sure to consume some olive oil, canola oil, or sesame oil every day, either in cooking, salad dressings, or however you like it. Your hair needs the monounsaturated fat in these oils, plus they raise the good kind of cholesterol and lower the bad kind.

Do as little as possible to your hair. Avoid blow-drying, any styling products that contain alcohol, and pulling it back tightly (encourages breakage). The less you can do to it, the healthier and stronger it will be. If you can just comb it and pull it back loosely, at least while it's wet, that's the safest.

Good luck!

Help with hair!?

Definetly try some strenthening shampoo that is safe on color treated hair... I think Panteen, sunsilk, Garnier Fructis, John Frienda, all have strenghtion shampoos out there just look around, or ask your hairdresser.

Hope I helped.

Help with hair!?

Will my hair fry if...........??

..i coloured it a week ago and will be dying it again on june 20th....will this fry and damage my hair my hair because i just coloured it?? if so how show should i be treating it so my hair could stay healthy

Will my hair fry if...........??

It's true that dying your hair does dry it out.

You can do one of two things to make sure your hair stay in healthy shape though!

1. Use an organic hair colour. It looks the same as regular hair dye and can even make your hair less dry than it already was.

2. Or you can use a really good conditioner on your hair before you dye it. Put lots in all over you hair when it's damp and leave it in for about 15 minutes. When you rinse it out, your hair should be full of moisture and ready to be dyed again!

Will my hair fry if...........??

No big deal. It's totally fine.

Will my hair fry if...........??

it could only turn gray looking but it wont fry!

Will my hair fry if...........??

Yes

Will my hair fry if...........??

I have in the past colored (at home) my hair 3 times in one day without any adverse effects.

Will my hair fry if...........??

my friends died her hair twice in two weeks, and her hair is fine. I don't think it will be bad, but I would reccomend not doing it.

Will my hair fry if...........??

Yes it will...it will burst into flames therefore you will spontaneously combust do to the over usage of coloring products

Will my hair fry if...........??

Read the directions on the bottle. If it doesn't recommend you to color it so quickly after your last color treatment, then don't do it!

Will my hair fry if...........??

Your hait will be fine, thats loads of time, but if your concerned by a leave in intensive conditioner, which is really good for your hair :)

Will my hair fry if...........??

Depends on your hair texture. Usually you can color it again in 3 weeks.

I have thick, curly hair and I dyed it 3 times in 2 days and nothing happened. My hair didn't fry or anything.

(color didn't come out right til the 3rd one)

Will my hair fry if...........??

No, it will be fine. I have re colored mine before the very next day because I didn't like the first outcome. Most of the time, coloring actually improves your hair. They have such great conditioners in the coloring these days. It always makes mine better.

Will my hair fry if...........??

it will harm a little . dont do it .. and it will make ur hair get whiter ..

Will my hair fry if...........??

you shouldnt dye your hair more than once every three months. And use fortefying products.....

Will my hair fry if...........??

depends on wut process you will be doing. highlights for example are more harmful to the hair than a simple dye job. if you went to the salon and they set the dates than you should be fine cuz they know wut they're doing. for example, they make appointments for touch up or wutever when they think it will be necesasry. anyhow, try to condition you hair atleast weekly, refrain from hot treatments (flat iron), and stay away from harsh chemicals like dyes, perms and relaxers as much as possible.

Will my hair fry if...........??

that sounds about right for a touch up for your color. But yes, whenever you color your hair it is hell on your hair. If you dye your hair you should use a shampoo formulated for colored hair alternatly (a day with one then a day with the other) with one for damaged hair. This will keep the color at it's best and reduce breaking. Also try to not blow dry your hair, however if you must be sure you use a dryer with a "cool" setting so that you are not toasting your hair to add to the damage. Good luck with the coloring, I hope you enjoy it.

Will my hair fry if...........??

it depends on what color it is. if your staying the same color it shouldnt be that bad. going darker is always a lot better on your hair. if you are going darker than i would suggest using a demi-permanent color like natural instincts for the time being because the colorings are so close together. using products like natural instincts can even make your hair look healthier than before, and it contains no ammonia. if you are going lighter then it could harm your hair somewhat, but it should be okay with proper conditioning. Leave the conditioner on your hair for up to 15 minutes, because that is usually how long it remains active. Avoid using flat irons, curling irons, or even hairdryers as much as you can.

Will my hair fry if...........??

no don't wory about it. It will be fine

How to make hair stronger n healthier?

Reduce the amount of heat you use and roller set instead. When you wash your hair use a thickening Shampoo and conditioner (try L`oreal Vive/ Garnier fructise). Also I strongly suggest you get a Hair Mayonnaise for deep conditioning. This is a miracle in a container! Trim ends every e wks.

You can get a vitamin for hair and nails, (horsetail root), at GNC or Walmart. All shops have these. Another recommendation I had recently was to use Progesterone Cream (for female hormones), I'm 40, and female, and to use Silica from GNC...which also is horsetail root. You can deep condition your hair as well with Wella Kolesterol, you can buy at Sally Beauty Supply, and use with a heat cap, that you can buy as well at Sally's, or wrap a shower cap and hot, wet towel around your head for 20 minutes. Hope these might help you!

Hair Weave??

I am in the process of going back to my natural hair, i havent relaxed my hair since jan 1 07. my natural hair is very wavy and curly. the process is comming along nicely, the only problem is when i want to wear my hair straight it curls up bc of weather or if i sweat i was wondering if i got a full head of weave with the crown out would that damage my hair in anyway?? the reason im going natural is to have my hair chemical free , and more healthy.. only serious answers please..

Hair Weave??

That is a great way of transitioning. I am fully natural as of 3 months ago, and I'm loving my natural texture. The full weave will help your hair to grow beacuse you won't be manipulating it. I say go for it!! Try braids as well. Check out this website, http://www.nappturality.com , and my natural hair journey page http://www.fotki.com/mzbumblebee. If you have any more ?s email me!!!!

Hair Weave??

it most likely would not do too much damage. it depends on what they would use for the weave.

go talk to your stylist about what it is exactly you want and don't be afraid to ask a bunch of questions.

they may be able to suggest products for you that will help control the curl in your hair.

I need help on tow to keep my hair the way it is when i brush it?

I need help on tow to keep my hair the way it is when i brush it?

Dryer sheet. Just run it over your hair

I need help on tow to keep my hair the way it is when i brush it?

Well if you're using a comb, use one where the teeth are close together.

If you're using a brush, wet it a little with water and run it through underneath your hair and on top.

I need help on tow to keep my hair the way it is when i brush it?

I know how u fell my hair used to be like that

Try using a deep conditioner in the shower like 2-3 times a week (otherwise it'll be too oily if u use it more)

Then after your brush your hair when u get out of the shower put in a defrizzer or something that controls frizz. Try to let your hair air dry but constantly just flatten it cuz when u blo dry it makes it frizzier

Also when your just brushing your hair put in a like spray in conditioner or detangler it will solve the knot probs

HOpe this helps

Should I color my hair before or after cutting off my dead /split ends?

My hair is naturally dark brown i was coloring it Jet Black for a long time and its grown out alot. I would like to color it Hoeny Blonde by Dark %26amp; Lovely but I don't know if i should cut it before or after i color. I figured i should cut it first to get rid of all the dead / split ends and my hair would be more healthy and look better when i color it...Please Advise...THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. ;)

Should I color my hair before or after cutting off my dead /split ends?

Whenever I go the salon they color first then cut because the coloring proces opens the haircuticles and dries it out a bit. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Should I color my hair before or after cutting off my dead /split ends?

yes definitely cut it before to get rid of the split ends, cause hair dying just makes them worse :) good luck

Should I color my hair before or after cutting off my dead /split ends?

Cut your hair to remove split ends first so the dye takes more evenly.

Should I color my hair before or after cutting off my dead /split ends?

Any professional will color then cut.

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

what can I do to let my hair grow extremely fast...what can I put to it...I do not like the idea of extensions...I want it to be natural hair and I want something healthy....what should I do?

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

I'm in the same situation as you are right now! I called my hair stylist (who I trust very much) and asked her what to do... she told me to take Biotin supplements every day. It won't make your hair grow REALLY fast, but it will certainly speed up the process. Also, take really good care of your hair so the ends won't break off. In the meantime, find a cute way of putting your hair up (if you can). For example, I put my hair up into a messy bun... that way, people can't even tell how long or short my hair is. Take a multivitamin everyday too, to give your hair the nutrients it needs (I recommend One A Day Women's). And, eat a lot of protein - meat, protein bars, even peanuts. Don't feel bad about wanting your hair to grow, though... I feel the EXACT same way as you!

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

you can't make your hair grow you just have to be patient.

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

Add prenatal vitamins or vitamins made specifically for hair, skin, and nails to your diet to help it grow faster. To prevent breakage and split ends avoid wearing metal clips, make sure you take off any necklaces you're wearing when you go to bed, only wash it when it gets oily, buy shampoo and conditioner from a salon (ask your stylist what they recommend for you), stay away from bleach and if you color it have it done in a salon, don't brush it when it's wet (use a wide-toothed comb instead) and if you have to blowdry or iron your hair use some sort of product in it that will protect it from the heat (ask your stylist about that too) and get it trimmed as necessary (depending on your hair type it can be abywhere from 6-20 weeks). Or if you're really desperate you can always get pregnant, it'll grow like a weed :p

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

Don't color it,and use lots %26amp; lots of conditioning with honey

added to your conditioner.

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

You can't actually make it grow faster, but there are a lot of things you can do to stop breakage and split ends to keep from getting set-backs, and the growth will appear faster. The things you can do and the products you use depends on whether you're

Black or another race, because hair texture is so different. Go to different websites and find out what is best for your texture of hair.

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

You already got some great answers, but i'll share my advice anyway.

How to get faster-growing, healthy hair ....

Things you must ingest (eat) : Biotin, Vitamin E, extra protein (meat, eggs, tofu) Multivitamin formulated for "Hair and Nails", nuts and vegetable oils (olive oil)

Things you must do : Exercise a few times a week to increase blood flow to scalp, no more colouring, straightening, bleaching or blow drying, wash hair once a week, condition all the time, do a deep conditioning treatment once a week ...

That should do it.

Above all - PATIENCE

I want my hair to grow reallllly fast....I am desperate...?

if you're so desperate, just wear a long haired wig. duh

Has anyone tried Sunsilk's Thick and Strong Shampoo(magenta colored bottle)? Does it help with

I'm not going bald or anything, it's just that I noticed that I'm "shedding" more hair than usual and think that maybe if I use a new shampoo it might fix the problem. I'm not sure if the "shedding" is due to hair breakage(my hair is not as healthy as I would like) or my new low calorie diet.

Has anyone tried Sunsilk's Thick and Strong Shampoo(magenta colored bottle)? Does it help with hair fallout?

You are supposed to lose about 100 strands of hair a day. If you keep your hair up and then shower, you may be seeing a lot shedding then because it hasn't had the chance while up. For healthy hair, try a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (I like Patene Ice or Dove) and a deep conditioner 2-3 times a week. Also, don't wash your hair everyday, do it every other so you don't dry your hair out. Get in for a trim every few months and get a cut that makes it so you don't have to abuse your hair with over styling. I don't know about the low cal diet, but I do know that you need good nutrition for healthy hair. They make vitamins specifically for healthy hair and nails so try that. Hope I helped.

Straightening Iron + Me = Dry Hair?

I love the way my hair looks straight and I straighten it everyday when I'm going out. I use a Chi ceramic straightening iron, and it really works. The only problem is that I hate how dry my hair looks! I look at other girls hair and they say they use irons, yet their hair is so shiny, swishy and not dry-looking at all. I'm really wondering what their secret is to beautiful hair. I use conditioner and an Italian shampoo with olive oil and it's gotten a little better, but not by much. What else can I do--any kinds of products, etc to make my hair look mosturized and healthy?

Straightening Iron + Me = Dry Hair?

You are not probably getting the dead ends cut of which makes your hair dry and crispy. When you go get your hair cut tell the person you want the dead ends cut.

Straightening Iron + Me = Dry Hair?

Maybe you need to have your hair trimmed more often. Ask the girls with shinny hair what products they use.

Straightening Iron + Me = Dry Hair?

I just had my hair cut and it's pretty wavy..They told me along with the Chi iron to use a straightening serum by Paul Mitchell..It's about $17 per bottle but worth it!

Straightening Iron + Me = Dry Hair?

Try some hair masks. That sounds weird but it will infuse moisture into your hair. Or you could try spraying your hair before with a serum made to prevent dry hair. Look in your local pharmacies and there should be a dozen selections

Straightening Iron + Me = Dry Hair?

Get your dead ends cutten off then get the Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Time Renewal Refining Mask. It leaves your hair smooth and restored while shielding it from damage. Plus it quenches your dry hair. Also when straightening it you can use Paul Mitchell Serum!

Straightening Iron + Me = Dry Hair?

use a heat protectant like one from VO5 it works great and all you do it spray it on your hair before you blow dry and before you straiten it and it protects your hair from the heat! Also, try not to straiten it everyday. maybe like on weekends or times you wont see anyone you care about looking good in front of let your hair dry o it's own and dont process it that day. hope this helps!

Question about hair & nails....?

My hair grows ridiculously slow and my fingernails always peel and break. I exercise, eat a healthy diet, and take care of my hair %26amp; nails, but for some reason I can't get them to grow! I've been taking prenatal vitamins for almost 3 months now and it hasn't changed anything. Any other suggestions?? Thanks so much!

Vitamin E helps too.

Is there any vegan vitamins that will help my hair & nails grow?

Only answer if ur a vegan and have used this and ur hair and nails grew healthy

Is there any vegan vitamins that will help my hair %26amp; nails grow?

Spirulina supplement. It contains 55 - 75% protein depending on the brand you choose, which in turn helps in the composition of hair %26amp; nails, which are made of protein - Keratin. I have been a vegan for over 11 years now and with absolutely no problems with my waist long hair. I take a spirulina tab everyday and it really helps with the body's nutritional requirements. For healthy and glossy hair try eating a spoonful of flaxseed oil + sun flower oil on an empty stomach. You get it readily in health food stores.

Is there any vegan vitamins that will help my hair %26amp; nails grow?

Wonders if calcium is vegan

Is there any vegan vitamins that will help my hair %26amp; nails grow?

Carrots or carrot juice. (Natural source of vitamin A)

Calcium. Calcium comes from dead sea shells, you decide how vegan is that.

Is there any vegan vitamins that will help my hair %26amp; nails grow?

Rosemary oil is very good for the hair. Biotin and trace minerals, such as those found in blue-green algae (2 to 6 tablets per day), help hair growth.

If you want faster growing nails, be sure that your diet is rich in Vitamins A, B-Complex, C, D, E and iron, calcium, zinc, sulfur, and the essential fatty acids.

Is there any vegan vitamins that will help my hair %26amp; nails grow?

A well rounded diet will help with strong hair and nails. Your hair can only grow a certain amount each month though.

Is there any vegan vitamins that will help my hair %26amp; nails grow?

I have been vegan for about 8 months. Believe it or not, prenatal vitamins (yes, the ones taken by pregnant women or those trying to get pregnant) are great for hair and nails. I'm not trying to get pregnant (I'm in my late 30s) but I've been taking them for a while and can see a difference.

Care for Dyed Hair?

Okay, i have never dyed my hair and I want to dye it purple. or at least some of it. See a picture of it here at the site and the picture on the most bottom left with that asian girl (no offense). I want it to be exactly like that. Care for Dyed Hair?

ill be fine shampoo it with main'n'tail it work's trust me i died my hair lots but it looks like i never did

Care for Dyed Hair?

I know that dying hair has a reputation for damaging hair, but I recently read an article (wish I could get it for you, but I dont remember which magazine it was in) that told me exactly the opposite. Dying hair used to be damaging because it wasnt very advanced. But technology now has improved it to the extent that it is moisturizing, and not really bad for your hair at all. I wouldnt worry, especially if this is your first time.

Permanently straightening my hair?

My hair is naturally curly and i cant find a style for it. Its very frizzy. I used a straightener before and when i do it looks and feels great. Its soft and theres no nappy split ends. Or no frizz. Im thinking of permanently straightening it. My hair is very healthy i never dye it. Yet recently it was that new herbal essence stuff. Im planning on doing it before going back to school. Is it ok to get it done at wal-mart? For 40 bucks? She said that it would stay starightened until i grow out my curly hair. Theres this new pantene pro-v restorative that stops breaking and im planning on starting using it by the end of this week, and following up until i get it permanently straightened. I cant do much with my hair but comb it and hair spray it. To stop the frizz but its just old and i need a new change for my hair. Whats the best way to go about this? Should i even think about dying my hair before straightening it? I'ii keep up with the pro-v stuff if I do starighten it.

Permanently straightening my hair?

I also have very curly %26amp; frizzy hair which I hate and therefore, have straightened.

I can't imagine what straightening system they are using at Walmart for $40. I have my hair permanently straightened with the Japanese straightning system but it costs $500 every 6 months.

However, if you do go to a reputable salon and have the Japanese straightning done, I highly recommend it. I have been doing this for 5 years and my hair is very healthy and very soft (even more so than when it was curly), it also looks great. The roots do grow in curly and I have them touched up every 5 months - in between touch ups I just run over them quickly w/ a hair iron.

As for dying you hair, I would not dye it a lighter color before the straightening - the bleach and chemicals are just too much processing. I had my hair highlighted once before the straightening and the pieces that were highlighted were always a little frizzy and dry.

However, you can go darker. I have since put in lowlights and they work fine when straightened.

Permanently straightening my hair?

I personally love curl hair! I wish I had curly hair, but it sounds like you don't like it...I would say do what makes you happy! IF you wanna straighten your hair, do it. I know how it feels to always be unhappy with how your hair looks. Hair is important, if it'll look better straight, then go for it girl!

Permanently straightening my hair?

I have naturally curly hair too...my hair is constantly in ringlets and corkscrews, and i LOVE it!...Instead of trying to straighten it, why don't you get a nice hair trimming and use frizz ending products from Pantene or Sunsilk? Also, it sounds like you need a deep conditioner or hot oil treatment...trust me, hairspray is about the WORST thing you can use on our type of hair...the alcohol in the spray will dry your hair out even more....Seriously, just cut your hair to shoulder length and start that pantene restorative product you were talking about...also, ONLY comb your hair when it's wet...raking through dry hair will only cause breakage...

Permanently straightening my hair?

realize that if your hair is relaxed chemically you will have to do the roots every 6 weeks and that your hair will become porous.... do some research before hand...

if chemically relaxed u will have to wait 2 weeks for a dye job

I would suggest using a flat iron...there are some great ones out there...to get the sleek look your looking for

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

I dyed my hair blk last summer and I am letting it grow out, my natural hair colr is lgt-med brown. I have like maybe 2 1/2 inches of black left on the tips and I am very impatiently waiting to get my hair highlighted, my hair stylist ( whom I trust) said that he could strip it and apply a color close to my natural color and my hair was strong enough for it, then I can later get my highlights. I had a bad experience w/bleach w/someone that really didn't know what they were doing but a bad experience is a bad experience. My hair is really healthy and I DO NOT want it damaged, has anyone succuessfully gotten their hair stripped w/o damage? I will mention that I am black and though I have a finer grade of hair its still black hair and I do have a relaxer. Should I do this or just be patient for 6 more months?

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

I have never had my hair stripped and I never will. Stripping the hair requires chemicals and will dry your hair. your stylist just wants to make a little extra money.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

I think its almost impossible to strip your hair without severely damaging it. I would just wait it out, you don't want to risk damaging your hair that much.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

DONT DO IT, it will ruin your hair.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

No matter how you get your hair stripped, it's going to damage it a little bit. But with the products your hairstylist will use, they're MUCH better than a product you could get at the store. If you really can't wait, you can either cut off the last 2 inches or so and get it high lighted, or you can have him color correct it. If you do chose to have him color correct it, I would suggest using a deep conditioner once a week for about 3 weeks and then you can go get your hair highlighted.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

u cant strip ur hair without damaging it... cuz all they use is bleach and peroxide because i got my hair stripped and it made it look fried.... so now i am using treatments and trimming my hair so make it healthier again

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

Money hungry? Honey you are the one who asked him about this- he did not suggest it. You mentioned several times how you do not want to damage your hair. You should just be patient. You know how long it took to grow, don't take a chance. Wearing it up with the ends hidden will buy you some time. Best of luck.

Using my flat iron 2-3 times a week, hair actually feels healthier. Why?

Yes, why? Shouldn't it be fried by now?

My straightener is a Sedu.

Using my flat iron 2-3 times a week, hair actually feels healthier. Why?

.a sedu is a good brand, it shouldn't dry out your hair...your hair may feel healthier because when you straighten it, more moisture goes into the hair and it could become possibly...a little bit healthier

Using my flat iron 2-3 times a week, hair actually feels healthier. Why?

Even though it may feel healthier, it's not. It takes a while to fry your hair.

Using my flat iron 2-3 times a week, hair actually feels healthier. Why?

your hair might be naturally really oily.

using the streightner could remove some of the oil leaving a smooth texture.

if you use it to much it will dry out your hair though. trust me. ive dont it.

Using my flat iron 2-3 times a week, hair actually feels healthier. Why?

Perhaps it is because curly hair tends to snarl easier. When you brush or comb through your hair when it's curly, it breaks the ends, but when it's straight, it doesn't break as easily. That leaves your hair feeling healthier.

Using my flat iron 2-3 times a week, hair actually feels healthier. Why?

It's not actually healthier, it is damaging. But it probably looks and feels smoother after the flat iron since you are smoothing out the cuticles in the hair temporarily. I have naturally very curly hair. The Flat iron makes it look shiny and smooth, but it damages it in the long run. But it's worth it! : )

Using my flat iron 2-3 times a week, hair actually feels healthier. Why?

You are adding moisture to your hair, and hair thrives on moisture and water.

What do i have do to set my hair permamently without straigtening them.?

my hair is thick and healthy but they look messy when i leave them.i dont want to straighten them because i dont want them to look flat.

What do i have do to set my hair permamently without straigtening them.?

Using product is best . Smooth Down by Redken is a wonderful product. It protects from heat and its light not stiff. And it adds lots of shine

What do i have do to set my hair permamently without straigtening them.?

Actually, do not go with Redken Smooth Down...it is the heavest of all the Redken products which means it will make your hair heavy and flat. Try Straight Sexy Hair Shampoo and Cond.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

I'm a black female here, but people try 2 tell me that I must get a perm in my hair, but I don't like perms because they burn too badly. Also, they put my hair more at risk for damage. I also have seborrhea-similar to psoriasis, %26amp; the Dr. told me not 2 perm my hair, but many ppl tell me I MUST get a perm in order to look better %26amp; so-called "more professional". I prefer to keep my hair natural. I have good, thick, %26amp; curly/wavy hair. Are they just jealous because I'm one black person whose hair doesn't necessarily require a perm? All professional hair dressers say that my hair is too pretty %26amp; too healthy 4 a perm. What's ur opinion? Thanks.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

Well I'm also a black girl 2 and i had a perm ever since I was five years old.Ever since i was five years old i regret of having a perm so my suggestion is that you don't need a perm cause you have beauty full hair that is naturally nice and the only reason a person gets a perm is when they have nappy hair and your hair don't even sound like its nappy. So all i have 2 say is DONT GET A PERM you'll go through hell trust me i have one right now and I'm going through hell with my hair

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

dont get it...and yes they are jealous. your hair sounds beautiful and just because u are black doesnt mean you have to get it. and like you said, it will really screw up your hair and damage it. so basically dont get a perm.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

yes tip . if you no you are getting perm do not itch your hair.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

I think if the doc tells you no, then you listen to the doctor..it's other methods of staightening out your hair without using relaxer

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

I'd say don't perm it if you don't want to. I would only ensure that you look nice for your job and it sounds that you do that already.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

do not get a perm!!!! ur hair is fine, just like pro hair dressers say!! and i'm sure it is great and pretty WITHOUT the perm! u'll ruine ur hair if u perm!

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

WELL THAT IS MY OPINION THAT THOSE WHO ARE TRYING TO GET YOU TO PERM IT ARE JEALOUS CUZ OF THE WAY YOUR HAIR GROWS NOW...LISTEN TO YOUR DOCTOR AND DO NOT GET A PERM IN YOUR HAIR...IF YOU HAVE SKIN PROBLEMS NOW YOU DON'T NEED TO ADD MORE FLAMES TO THE FIRE...DON'T LISTEN TO THE OTHERS...LEAVE IT ALONE.........

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

All hair that is well-taken-care-of is pretty and healthy so please get rid of the notion of "good" or "bad" hair.

If your hair is healthy, then wear your hair in its natural state. If you're concerned about versatility, then have your stylist blow-dry or press your hair straight (as opposed to wearing curly hair all the time). Also, begin researching some natural stylists in your area. They're a wealth of information and care-tips for your natural tresses.

Good luck. =^)

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

You do not have to relax your hair;it's just an option for those who want to use it.You also have a medical condition which is not compatible with many beauty treatments;you can not dye your hair, either, and certain shampoos can make your condition worse. You like your hair the way it is,so there is absolutely no need for you to change it.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

no u should not get a perm b cause when u get 1 and u start scrating your hair and when it is time 4 u 2 get a nother 1 it will burn n sum perms will break off your hair if u color your hair it would break your hair off b cause of the perm and u wold have 2 get 1 every 6 weeks so no i suggest u not 2 get 1

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

Well, I'd give a lot of weight to opinions of your doctor and the professional hair dressers. I'd also give weight to your own personal preference. But since I don't know what you look like, I don't know if there's anything about your hair that's detracting from your own professional appearance. Maybe you could ask people that offer this opinion what their reasons are? Maybe a change in your jewelry or clothing might help. As for me, I think black women look good with really short hair. These are just the views of a white guy.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

I have seborrhea too and I keep my hair permed. I personally think it helps mine better. But I'm also white so my hair is different. I have a close friend that's black and she never perms her hair. She's all natural and I think she's pretty. So basically it's just a matter of personal choice. So do whatever you prefer.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

Yeah, leave your hair natural... if you need a professional look, wax it and tie it back tightly. Personally, I like the afro, and it is coming back in style.

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

u dont have to get a perm u can use a straightening comb if u choose too..

Do I HAVE 2 get a perm/relaxer in my hair because I'm black?

No you don't you're the same as other person.

My hair bleeching for my kind of hair?

have the natural kinky black hair..with some white american hair textures in ti but I wuld really like to dye my hair blonde..like the christina milian color..last time i heard my hair was unhealthy..i have gotten it cut and conditioned it a lot..my hair is black which is gonna be hard to bring it up..but i have taken care of my hair and it seems healthier and has been growing..a few split ends but a trim can fix that..last time i bleached highlights into my hair. my hair cracked and broke off as i straigned my hair..its been 4 months since i last touched my hair..would it be to dye it again..i am the cautious type of scared to go bald..or atleast a light brown ? ...i do know that it is not good to dye hair light..but i have black hair and bleeding is not good for african woman hair..my hair has becoming thinner before but this time i actually waited 4 months because i was always continuously dying it..is it ok?

My hair bleeching for my kind of hair?

I would highly recommend going to a professional for any hair coloring. It might be a lot of money; but its worth it and you'll still have your hair afterwards ;) good luck

My hair bleeching for my kind of hair?

NO......unless you wanna be bald when you grow up. bleaching is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY damaging!!!! even after your hair grows out all black again. the bleach SINKS into your scalp to the roots. even with conditioner it wont help it much. give your hair a break!

Walmart or Target vitamins??? You crack me up.. Funniest thing I've heard in months.. stop it.. I can't breath.... somebody slap me...

Sure .. you go buy all those crappy fillers.. tell you what you do.. take em and drop em in a glass or water or even a glass of vinegar.. (vinager is same acid level as stomach) Come back to em in .. oh.. 3 or 4 days.. maybe some will have disolved.. doubt it.. LOL... just think.. they won't disolve there how can they disolve in your stomach?? they don't.. you poop em out.. Let me ask you a question? do you put cheap oil in your car? Do you cook with cheap oil.. wait.. don't answer that.. you probalby use canoil or veggie oil .LOL... so. you take better care of your car than your body? hmmmm... veggie oil or canolia oil? Corn oil.. (FYI. there is no oil in a kernal of corn, or veggies... they can actually make cookin oil out of carpets..) If you don't use olive oil, coconut oil or lard, not the homiginizied lard either, then you are cookin with .. basically.. cancer oil... I'll bet in order to save money.. you use margarine instead of butter too? of course you do.. Margarine is only one molecule away from being plastic.. where do you think your body stores that? hmmmm leave margarine out for a year.. bugs won't even eat it.. it will look and taste the same after being left out for months and months... Butter is good for you... eat it.. enjoy it... next thing you are gonna say is that Soy is good for you too.... pleeeeeeeze.... if an infant take any type of formula, made with soy??? that infant is getting the equivalent of 7 birth control pills of estrogen .. per bottle... and you wonder why our young ones are messed up??? hmmmm oh well.. Ever heard of Noni juice.. Wally world noni juice.. it takes 17 of there bottles to equal what is in only one of our bottles of Noni.. yep.. wally's bottles are cheaper.. but by the time you buy 17 of em... and theirs taste like crap.. ours taste good.. go figure.... you don't always get what you pay for do you?

What is the best vitamin to take for your hair to be healthier and shinier and to help it grow?

I have heard that Vitamin B-12 helps to make your hair grow, also prenatal vitamins will definately make it grow faster. Also to help your hair grow longer, keep up with getting it trimmed, get all of those split ends off. That will help keep it healthy, shiny, and it will grow better. I try to get a trim at least every 6 weeks to 2 months. I also use a ton of conditioner in the shower. Every time I get it cut the beauticians always tell me how healthy my hair is. So try getting regular trims, and don't be cheap with the conditioner. Also try some B-12 or prenatal vitamins.

Hair growth, faster...?

well I my hair was long wasnt healthy, so I had to cut it about 4 inches, below the shoulder, now my hair is way healthier, and I now thats the most importnt thing for hair growth, but are they any ideas, of how it could grow faster, I really want to have like I had it....thanxx for the ideas...

Hair growth, faster...?

It's really a combination of things.

First, you have to have proper nutrition. And you also must drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.

Visit these sites to see what kinds of vitamins and foods help hair growth and the other benefits they have:

http://growafrohairlong.com/foods.html

Boundless Tresses. It's AMAZING. I went from 1/2" of growth a month to a full 1" a month with this. You can purchase it here:

http://growthspecifics.com/2.html

There's an FAQ so you can learn everything you need to know about if from the FAQ.

You also must treat your hair well! No drying shampoos or conditioners with filler. This means that it's best for you to get all hair products from a salon or beauty supply store like Sally's. Drug store products use fillers like clay which can coat the hair shaft and cause it to break.

Do NOT rub your hair with a towel, just blot it and let ir air dry. The only thing your hair should rub against is silk. Which is a good reason to invest in a silk headwrap and silk pillowcases and bedsheets.

Do NOT use heat more than once a month. Heat will cause hair breakage and just keep you further away from your goal. When you do heat style, use a heat protectant. (This includes hair straightening, flat irons, curling irons, diffusers, and blowdryers.)

It's also best if you avoid using styling products like hairspray, gel, mousse all the time as most of these have some sort of alcohol in it with can dry out your hair.

The next thing is moisture and conditioning. It's best if you get a quality deep conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and daily conditioner.

Once a week or once every two weeks, deep condition your hair.

When you condition your hair with a daily conditioner, leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it out.

Use the co-washing method. That means you might wet your hair everyday and use conditioner, but NOT shampoo. Shampooing everyday isn't really necessary unless your hair is EXTREMELY greasy. You should shampoo the days that you plan on deep conditioning.

When you get out of the shower, you spray the leave-in conditioner in your hair. Infusium 23 Original Formula Leave-In Conditioner is really good. Comb it through with a wide-tooth comb.

Ditch the harsh plastic combs and invest in a boar bristle brush, pick, and wide-tooth comb.

You can also choose to use hot oil treatmens and cholesterol treatments. You should probably do a hot oil treatment once or twice a month and a cholesterol treatment weekly or every two weeks.

Lay on your back, and hang your head upside down over the side of your bed for five minutes. It increases blood flow to your scalp.

People say trimming your hair will grow it longer, but that is FALSE. Your hair grows from the ROOTS, meaning that if you cut your ends, your hair wouldn't recognize this and magically grow. However, trimming will keep your hair neat and get rid of split ends, which makes it stronger and will help with length RETENTION (keeping the length)

I know this is a lot of information, but I've been growing my hair out and I started above shoulder length, and now it is chest length! Still growing.

How long after coloring hair can I get highlights?

I just colored my hair on Tuesday night, and I would like to highlight my hair to break the color up a bit. I want to get it done proffesionally, but was wondering how long I should wait, even going to a pro, before getting my hair highlighted? My hair is rather healthy and I take great care of usually, this is probably a one time event. Whats the soonest I could do it, and when would it be safest? I will also cut my hair the same day to keep it healthy.

How long after coloring hair can I get highlights?

You can highlite your hair the very same day! When you color your hair darker you are adding pigment to your hair. This is not usually very damaging to your hair depending on wich product you use. When you highlite your hair you are taking out the natural pigment. which can be damaging but if you are going to a pro, they will know when to take the color so it does not damage your hair. You will be suprised at how well your hair will style once you highlite it! If you are worried about damage have the stylist do a diamond foil on the top and sides this will look like you highlited your whole head when in reality you only highlited the top and sides. It blends beautifly! Good Luck!

How long after coloring hair can I get highlights?

I normally wait about a week, especially if you say your hairs in good condition. I color mine at home a reddish blonde, then have a pro. highlight real blonde thru out. It comes out good.

How long after coloring hair can I get highlights?

my mom,(hair dresser) says u can do it know whenever u want do it know!

How long after coloring hair can I get highlights?

i tell my clients to wait two weeks and to condition alot with biolage conditioning balm, hint rinse all cond out with cooler water, it closes the cuticle down over the conditioner molecule to let the cond work form the inside out, good luck and i think you are doing the best thing by going to a pro, good luck hon

How long after coloring hair can I get highlights?

As long as your hair is healthy and you get a good moisturizing/conditioning treatment afterwards you can get the highlights as soon as you want. I'm a hairdresser and I do single process color with highlights on the same day a lot.

How long after coloring hair can I get highlights?

I'm a hairdresser, and as long as your hair is healthy you can highlight it as soon as the same day.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

cut off as much as you can bear to lose (seriously, it does help - i had to lose 6 inches, but my hair has dramatically improved for it) and drown it in conditioner frequently. My hair has been bleached, darkened, bleached, dyed pink, bleached, dyed blue, darkened, bleached etc etc for so many years - I now try to at least once a week wash my hair, put in tonnes of conditioner and wrap it in a towel for 30 minutes - twice a week if i can. i swear by the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette range - its worked wonders! Especially their intensive conditioner! And you get out the shower smelling like chocolate and coconut.

Also where possible, try to cut down on blow drying and straightening/curling your hair - leave the towel on for a bit longer to absorb more water, let your hair get a bit of fresh air for 5-10 mins until it's damp and then dry. Blow drying from wet will damade your hair more, as you have to use more heat.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

cutting it off. or using deep conditoning treatments and taking better care of your hair. my hair was damage and cut it but now its alot healthier. good luck

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

chop it all off or grow it out

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

you need to use a reconstructing treatment on your hair

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

try using v05 hot oil treatment that normally works. give it ago.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

Use John Master's Honey and Hibiscus Reconstructing Conditioner.

You can find it by googling john masters.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

pureology is the best stuff ever! I straighten my hair everyday, and it keeps it soft, and makes me want to run my fingers through my hair all the time!

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

You cant. Loser.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

The best thing you can probably do is go and see your hairdresser for a henna wax treatment or a hot oil treatment. both these are deep conditioning treatments and i would recommend to get them quit regularly o help get your hair back into shape and in future just use a semi permanent colour as they don't damage the hair as much.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

Go to Target and buy some Dove Damaged Hair Therapy Shampoo, and some Rusk Calm Conditioner. Wash it with both every night for about 5 days, then use it every other day. My hair was destroyed from straightening it daily for the past 2 years, but this stuff made it feel much better. You have to cut off the split ends though, as once they're split, nothing can help them but cutting them.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

Try FRUCTIS conditioner, or TRESEMME. My hair was like straw, after dyeing it so often, but is better now (it took a couple of weeks of using the conditioner every day)

i've stopped using tongs and straighteners, and that's helped too.

HELP how can i make my chemically damaged hair softer and healthier??? : ( ?

dont listen to those nobs who tell you to cutt it off.

to start with buy a lavender ASG'S treatment cream use this like you would a shampoo and wash out. After use a lavender LSG'S treatment wich is like a conditioner.

leave this is your hair untill it dries this will restore all yur natural moisture and nutrients in your hair. then wash out when dry

Then use a leave in hyperdefonter. this will HELP to prevent extreme split ends, further damage.

use this when blow drying, straightning, curling ect.

also do not take the advice of some of the other comments "wash your hair every day for 5 days"

if you do wash your hair every day even if its for a week, the mosre you wash your hair the mroe you will need to.

your hair will become more greasy and then dry out leaving flakey scalps.

once every 2 days is the best way.

Hair coloring experts?

Hello, right now my hair is dark brown and I wanted to go lighter, after using a virtual makeover tool I came up with this color for myself, however I have tried to dye my hair in the past and nothing changes since my hair is too dark. How do I go about this look, do I need to go professional, can I do it at home? Will I need to bleach? I have never bleached, my hair is fairly healthy I never blow dry or curl or anything, and I have dyed my hair 3 times in the past year. Thanks for any help here is the color I wish to get.

http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b19/di...

and here is how dark my hair is now

http://s16.photobucket.com/albums/b19/di...

Hair coloring experts?

The general rule of thumb is, hair color cannot lift old color. I've seen it done, but it's too hard to guess what the end result will be. The best idea is to have a professional do it. They may have to bleach it, but many bleaches we use have conditioners and toners in them so they are safer.

Hair coloring experts?

Pretty hair, you should go to a professional and take that photo

Hair coloring experts?

dont dye it! your hair is really nice how it is and i have dyed my hair for so many years and i wish i hadnt.

if u really want to you would have to bleach it but i wouldnt recomend dyin it

Hair coloring experts?

there are a few hair colours for people with darker hair loreal has some i used them after i had dyed my hair black they worked well bleaching might not be good for your hair it could turn orange

Hair coloring experts?

I have dark hair and I put temporary dye in it and it works fine.. But if you wanna make it noticably lighter you have to bleach it first then dye it whatever color you wanna make it, or it won't work. Best advice is go and get it professionally done. They will make it look wonderful :]

-Hope this helps-

Hair coloring experts?

go get it done professionaly.

you'll need to get it bleach and bleaching your self isn't a good idea.

Hair coloring experts?

you dont have to bleach it. when you go to buy the dye look at the side of the package. most boxes will show what color your hair will turn with that dye based on how dark your hair is. but since you are going lighter, you have to use a permanent dye. i think that color looks great on you.

What vegetebles/fruit are really good for your skin and/or hair?

any?? like make hair and skin healthier or something.. grow faster? just any type that is good for skin/hair

What vegetebles/fruit are really good for your skin and/or hair?

I've been a vegetarian for two years, and literally, almost instantly when I cut out meat, I started noticing amazing results with my skin and hair.

I used to get frequent breakouts, especially around the time when I would start menstruating, and I would have pretty greasy skin. About two or three weeks after I cut out meat completely, I noticed that I didn't have to apply powder to my face throughout the day anymore to absorb oil, and that I ONLY got breakouts when I was super stressed out. I also noticed that I started to get really strong nails. I had pretty strong nails to begin with, but when I try bending them they don't even give! My hair is naturally thick, but I also noticed that when I went vegetarian it would stay clean-looking and not greasy for longer than before.

I talked to my doctor about this, and she said that it had a lot to do with cutting out the meat. Meat is FULL of artificial hormones, which can cause breakouts and greasy hair and skin. After all, the reason us women get greasy skin and more pimples around our periods is because of the surge of hormones. How much more would it affect our bodies if we're ingesting artificial hormones from animals? My doctor also said that my better skin and hair has a lot to do with eating more soy and more vegetables. She recommended green vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, peppers, etc. Stay away from starches like potatoes, corn, and bananas.

My recommendating to you is to eat as many vegetables as possible, of any kind. Avocados are also good for you, but very high in fat so watch out. And try to limit the amount of meat you consume, and replace meats with soy products, nuts, and loads of vegetables. Trust me, you'll see and feel the difference. I also lost quite a bit of weight when I went vegetarian. I had a lot of baby fat on my thighs, and now I absolutely love my body shape.

What vegetebles/fruit are really good for your skin and/or hair?

uh i dont know for sure, but i hear fish is good for your hair, something about the fluids in its flesh that brings shine. but just be careful of what you eat too much of, every year around christmas i eat those oranges and then everyone says i turn orange XD

What vegetebles/fruit are really good for your skin and/or hair?

Any of them.

Fruits and veggies are all great for the body.

Eat a lot and eat varieties.

What vegetebles/fruit are really good for your skin and/or hair?

i love that stuff...i have nice skin

What vegetebles/fruit are really good for your skin and/or hair?

Trust me .. ALL of them !

there's nothing better than salads and fruit salads to eat everyday .. i dont do that but i hope i do
