Is there a better way to straighten my hair?

I've been straightening my hair for about a year and a half with a real iron.You know the one that straightens your clothes?Anyways, I want a better way to straighten my hair because it doesn't look healthy.I think my hair is falling out as well,is it possible to happen?Or am i paronoid?

oh my gosh!! never a REAL iron to flatten your hair, have you been living under a rock?! that does SO MUCH damage to your hair - my mom did that when she was SEVENTEEN! basically flat irons or blow drying your hair straight is your best bet.

but before even doing something like that, i am asuming ur hair is very damaged and dry - use a hydrating shampoo and LOTS of conditioner! Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo + Conditioner works extremely well (and it makes your hair smell great!!) if this doesnt work, see your hairdresses for other things to re-hydrate your hair. also applying a sermen before you straight your hair is important - since your hair is been through so much damage.

ugh! you use a real iron??? get a nice ceramic flat iron, maybe chi or T3. Make sure you use some product to protect your hair from getting fried!

A clothing iron is VERY damaging, it kills your hair. My advice is to use a deep cleansing shampoo and conditioner, and if you still want to straighten it you could use a ceramic iron, or blowdry it straight with a brush.

My grandmother straightened her hair with an iron for years, and her hair is flat, and is burnt. Don't iron it anymore if you want to keep it healthy!

YES, that sounds like a horrible way to do your hair, a clothing iron? that really must be hurting your hair. no your not paronoid, and heated hair styles get damaged quite easily.

anyways you can PERMENTLY straighten your hair, with chemicals, this is harsh on all kinds of hair, particualrly thin and blonde.

other than that you can get a hair straightner from any hair salon. i suggest a ceramic, it makes your hair feel silky smooth.

I am sure that your hair is falling out or burning, that is not healthy for your hair. A clothes iron gets alot hotter than a straightening iron. If you go to Wal Mart there are several different irons for your hair that are under $30. You can also purchase a spray for your hair, called aquage, there are other brands out there as well, this is what I use. Basically what it is, is just a thermal styler and it keeps your hair from burning from the straighteners. Good Luck!!!

Instead of using a iron that you use on your clothes, buy a flat iron made just for your hair. I bought one and I love mine! I use it every morning. Also try to blow dry it straight, this will help a lot.
