I really want to get a haircut. I want to cut it around shoulder length. The problem is that I have really curly blonde hair, like spiral curls, and if I cut it too short, then it might poof more, which is a problem I already have. I was thinking that maybe I could straighten it only when I wash it, twice a week, for example. I don't know if this is too much for my hair to handle, but I'm so sick of having to put it up in a ponytail everyday. I shtere anything I could do, any haircut, etc., that could help my hair become more relaxed and not so much curly? Is it unhelthy to straighten twice a week?
Thanks so so so much to anyone who can help me :]

* Get the right hair cut. A stylist can cut hair to enhance or tone-down frizz. Very curly hair cut with a razor could frizz, for example. (That's because a tight curl snaps easily and a razor cuts left to right, you could get split ends.) On the other hand, if you have long curly hair a stylist cuts angles inside the hair to add layers, which will enhance your curl. If you want a style that maximizes curl, make sure to tell your stylist!
-for ur hairstyle, take these into consideration (from 1st priority to lower priority in choosing hairstyles): 1. face shape, 2. hair type, 3. hair length, 4. body type, etc

What is better/healthier for my hair?
sounds like we have the same exact hair.
i went to a stylist who specialized in curly hair
and now i LOVE my curly hair and i won't straighten it.
If i do i use frizz products and i deep condition it.
twice a week is no where near as bad as everyday.
If you really want it straight twice a week sounds fine.
I don't think it will cause too much damage.

you could get a perm but you would have to go to a really nice salon to get it done good but i woulden't recommed it becuase it's even more unhealthy but ask your stylest and also tresme (i can't spell it) has a heat protectant spray that you apply when your hair is wet to blow dry or if your hair is dry to iron it or if you do both then put it on both times it helps alot! hope i helped.

Most people I know who have curly hair straighten every day, so twice a week sounds good.
However, heat still damages hair - so use a thermal protection, like John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Serum (what I use.) Just apply it to hair in minimal amounts before you grab that flat iron.
If you want a more permanent solution, you could get Yuki Thermal Conditioning (a Japanese treatment that straightens hair for up to 6 months.) However, I think it's super damaging. I had it, and now my hair's a bit more frizzier than before. But it was nice having such straight and sleek hair.
If you want the healthiest hair, I'd say just skip the straightening. Let your curls out! Add some cream or anti-frizz serum to enhance - by cream, Bumble %26amp; Bumble Curl Creme smooths down those frizzies and plus it creates incredible shine. It doesn't look too puffy either. And that's all you need to do :) If you're having a bad hair day (for me, it's like every day) just pull your hair back with a clip in the middle and let your curls hang out at the side.
Whoa, this was pretty long. But just saying :) Hope this helps!
