What are some things you can do to help grow VERY long hair?

My hair is already long but for as long as I can remember I've wanted it down to my hips. I have extremely healthy and strong hair but it just never has grown that length. Can only some people grow there hair that long? Or what are some tricks to make it very long?

What are some things you can do to help grow VERY long hair?

your hair is already pre-genetically determined to grow to a certain length and stop

What are some things you can do to help grow VERY long hair?

There are no tricks. Your hair can only live for so long...at best it'll live up to 7 years, but most people are more like 2 to 4 years...putting you around lower back length. If it's never gotten that length, it probably never will. The hair will fall out and re-grow before it gets to your hips no matter how strong it is.

2.) Before you go to bed massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers.

3.) Wear your hair up in buns. This will protect the ends.

4.) Use a wide tooth comb (Wooden, horn, bone, or seamless) instead of a brush.

5.) Deep conditon alot.

6.) Only use shampoo from your ears up. Coat the hair from the ears down in conditioner and then rinse starting from the top and going down,

7.) Use oils such as coconut, jojoba, or a very very diluted olive oil on youe ends and the dry parts of your hair. You must expirament to get the correct amount w/ out looking greasy.

8.) Take vitamins. The best ones are: Prenatal, Biotin, MSM, hairtopia.

What are some things you can do to help grow VERY long hair?

DONT CUT IT. EXCEPT 4 SPLIT ENDS.

What are some things you can do to help grow VERY long hair?

Keep your ends clipped- free of split ends. Keep it clean but not overly washed because the natural oils help protect the hair and scalp. Try to avoid heat as much as possible, let it air dry, you can also braid it for a while to give it a break from everyday styling. Condition, condition, condition!

Some people are able to achieve this while others are not. It has to do w/ how you care for it and ones genes.

What are some things you can do to help grow VERY long hair?

Okay, here we go.

First and foremost, treat your hair gently. For hair to grow long, you have to care for it properly. And that means washing it with gentle shampoo, use lots of rich moisturizing conditioner. When you shampoo, consider diluting it to get your hair clean but reduce the drying effects on your hair. After you apply conditioner, comb out with a wide tooth seamless comb.

Try to avoid brushing too much. And never, never, never brush wet hair. Ever. It stretches and breaks your hair.

Avoid heat. If you must blow dry, use low heat and low fan speed and use your fingers or a wide tooth seamless comb to smooth and detangle your hair. Don't ever use hot stylers like curling irons and flat irons. They are death to hair and absolutely contrary to growing long, healthy, beautiful hair.

Protect your locks. Most sucessful longhairs wear our hair up or braided to protect it.

About trimming. Contrary to popular belief, trimming all the time won't make your hair grow long. It will just slow your growth and possibly make it shorter. If your hair is in good condition, you don't have a lot of splits and white dots and you like the shape of the bottom, don't trim it.

Occasional dustings, where so little hair is trimmed that the hair fall looks like dust are helpful. And don't take off length. You can also do search and destroy where you search out splits and white dots and trim just above them with sharp hair scissors.

Be patient. Growing long, beautiful hair is a marathon. Not a sprint. Be prepared to be in it for the long haul. It takes years. But, it is totally worth it. If it is what you truly want. :)
