Could i color my hair?

Okay, I dyed my hair a dark brownish/black color (which is a semi permanent color) my natural color is dark brown and at first I wanted to get my hair back to its natural color. What happened is is that I had a red color underneath this blackish/brownish color and I'm in love with this black color now... I was wondering, if I dyed my hair permanently black, would the reddish color come back thru or not? I feel bad sort of about not having my hair a natural color, its hard to explain, I feel like I'm doing something bad to my hair even though I really do not dye it that often. My hair is really healthy, but I feel the need to be more natural.. :/

thanks guys, i appreciate the help.

it shouldn't come through, if it does just dye it again.

Loose the hair color for a while, just let it all grow out. The red color won't show through because it will grow out either faster or at the same rate as the darker color over it. Personally, if you want more natural I would completely grow all the color out (maybe get some good dye remover), and leave it for about a month to get that natural feel back, then dye it back to the slightly darker color you love so much! That way, you're hair won't be clogged with all that dye, but it will be the color you want! And if you don't dye your hair too much (I wouldn't reccomend dying it over and over for long periods of time, give it break time), it should stay healthy!

Red should not come through if you use a permanent black color but do make sure you remember that once a month you will need a touch up and soap cap to keep it the color you desire.
