Dyeing hair question?

ok, so I put semi permanent neutral black in my hair about 2 months ago and it is fading, so I bought some more, but now I think about it and I want to go dark blonde. It is dark brown now and the chart says it will dye it. I plan on doing a test strip. So, I was wondering if I can put the dye for the dark blonde on and if I don't like it if I can just dye over it with the black. This will be only the 2nd time Ive dyed my hair so it is pretty healthy. I don't think it would fall out. If it starts burning, should I just rinse immediately , or should I just expect it to burn when lifting the color a few shades and if it looks terrible, how soon can I dye it black. Any other tips would be great. Thanks!

Dyeing hair question?

HONEY FROM SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE WITH THE HAIR DYE I SUGGEST YOU DONT DO IT BUT IF YOUARE GOING TO I PREFER YOU TO WAIT AT LEAST TWO TO THREE WEEKS BEFORE YOU DYE YOUR HAIR AGAIN IT WILL DAMAGE YOUR HAIR AND NOT ONLY THAT IT WILL COME OUT WITH A FUNKY COLOR. IF IT STARTS BURNING WASH IT OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Dyeing hair question?

Dyeing hair question?

i have been dying my hair with permanent dye since i was 16 ( 9 years ) and as long as you don't leave it on for too long and use the right kind of shampoo and conditioner afterwards you should be fine... also, deep conditioner your hair every two weeks just in case b/c obviously not everyone's hair is the same...

Dyeing hair question?

i have no clue. i have never had my hair dyed anywhere but at the salon. maybe you could call the lady that usually cuts your hair and ask her advice?

Dyeing hair question?

go to a professional for goodness sakes.......

Dyeing hair question?

first and fore most how are you? secondly you do not dye your hair, you dye eggs and clothes. You color or put a semi/permanent rinse in it. And you are doing to much for all of the money you are using just go ahead and let a cosmetologist do it and get it right the first time instead of messing your hair up.At least if a professional does it and it doesn't turn out right you can get a free hair do or sue.:)

Dyeing hair question?

yes, u would do a strand test.if the strand test don`t come out the way u want do not do it if it do come out the way u want it do the same procedures. also dont use a big strand of hair.small amounts so it will not be notieable. i hope this helps and alway use the manufactor`s direction.

Dyeing hair question?

hi i am a hair dresser. first rule of hail color. color over color makes a darked color. so you will not get a dark blonde if you apply the color even if you do get it to lift a bit it wont be the color you want . the only way you will have dark blonde if if you strip the black off you hair first (with bleach) and then apply the blonde. go ahead and do the strand test if you like on a underneath part of your hair. you are just going to put the black over it anyways so go a good size section so you can get a good idea of what it will look like make sure you dry it and look at it in good light. as for applying the black normally a client will come back and get a retouch every 2-3 months so it should not burn if it does sometimes it does happen if you can stand it leave it on. once you rinse it will stop. unless

it feels extremely bad... i am glad to help if you have any more questions just add them to this question and i will check back...YOU CAN APPLY THE BLACK OVER THE DARK BLONDE THE SAME DAY .IF YOU DECIDED TO APPLY THE BLONDE THAT IS.

(THINK ABOUT IF YOU GO TO A SALON AND THEY MESS YOUR COLOR UP

THEY DONT SAY. OK COME BACK IN A FEW WEEKS AND WE WILL FIX IT.. )THEY FIX IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE!!! IT MIGHT DRY YOU HAIR OUT A BIT JUST PUT SOME CONDITIONER ON FOR ABOUT 30 WITH A PLASTIC BAG OVER IT AND DO IT A FEW TIMES A WEEK.

ITS NOT GOING TO MAKE YOU HAIR FALL OUT..

P.S DONT LISTEN TO THESE SNOTTY B******

EXCEPT THE ONES WHO ARE BEING NICE

in a box of hair color it has 20 vol developer

which means it will lift one shade and deposit 2

what you will get if you apply it is a darker color

then what you have now. with out seeing your hair

its hard to say exactly what you will end up with .

but it will not be dark blonde i can garentee that.

like i said do a strand test and see if you like what you end up with. it most likely wont end up a concistant color

from root to tip. because your new growth is not the same color as the rest of your hair.

i wish i could do it for you..

i will check back if you have more questions

Dyeing hair question?

the best thing to do save up n go to the hairdressers. you will need a permant colour to lift your hair to dark blonde now you have put a dark drown dye on it. if your going to put the dark brown back on just apply to the roots only then 4 the last 5 mins comb through to the ends if you dont do this it will go black on the ends. you are also going to b causing your hair to dry out n go frizzy .GO TO THE HAIRDRESSERS. I have been hairdressing 4, 15 years come across this b4 it will cost u more but your hair will b right.

Dyeing hair question?

the best thing you can do is to ask a hairdresser

Dyeing hair question?

first u gotta bleach ur hair then u can do what ever u want

the reason why i said to bleach it is because if u have it a dark color and want to die it a light color it wont take it it will only take like 4 parts of ur hair and trust me it happened to me before

Dyeing hair question?

You can add the black directly to the blonde if you don't like it. I've done it before, just remember to use a good conditioner after you do this. However, if your hair is really dark adding a dark blonde is going to turn it an orange color and look bad. I would suggest stripping it first, but be very carful. If it starts to burn rinse it out immediately it will burn your hair, I had the experience of that one.

Dyeing hair question?

Ask a hair dresser

Dyeing hair question?

You can't "dye" your hair a lighter color. Lighter hair color is achieved by removing the pigment from your hair, with peroxide ( not the kind you buy in a store, but the type used by beauticians ). If you have a dark colored dye on your hair, and you cannot afford to go a salon and get what is called "color correction" then you must simply let your hair grow out. If you keep dyeing you hair over and over it will get damaged. Let your hair grow, save your $ and get it done right by a professional.
