I bleach my brown hair?

I HAD MED. BROWN HAIR WITH HIGHLIGHTS. I WAS SO SMART THAT I DECIDED TO BLEACH IT. THE ROOTS LOOK GREAT BUT AS IT GOES DOWN MY HAIR IS THIS ORANGEY/ RED COLOR. WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST? I CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE IT PROFFESSIONALY DONE. MY HAIR IS ACTUALLY QUITE HEALTHY CONSIDERING WHAT I DID. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY.

Either attempt to bleach it again...however it may have no effect except weaken your hair more. Trust me, I know! I'd suggest getting professional help because there are a couple things that can be done. You may have completely stripped your hair (bleaching does this) to the point that it will no longer take colour, so dying it will have no effect. In this case, a stylist would use a filler on your hair, then dye it. If you want your hair to stay blonde, ask your stylist to use a toner to achieve the blonde in the red regions. A cool toner will neutralize the red, the best thing is that a toner is not a dye nor a bleach...so it is not as destructive to your hair. You said that you can't go to a stylist, you may have to live with your hair all gross if you can't bleach out the red (which is often the case). But maybe you can go to a beauty school to get it done. Applying toner is extremely easy, a student will be able to do a good job and it will be extremely cheap.

Your gonna have to bleach it again. Just apply it only to the areas that you want to go lighter on. Good Luck!

I would suggest dying it a strawberry blonde color. Or a reddish brown if you are okay loosing the blonde. If you have your heart set on bleach blonde - try bleaching again. It would be the riskiest though. There is no real covering up red unless you bleach.

bleach is the only way to get it to the desired blonde that i'm sure your roots are. you alway do roots last and ends first because roots turn faster than ends. dont put any more bleach on it if you dont want to fry your hair. i suggest a semi permanent dye dark enough to cover the tell tale red orange colors of bleaching. then wait a couple of months, maybe save some money and have your hair done at a salon.
